The Friends of the Community Foundation

The Friends of the Community Foundation formed in 1997 with the aim of raising awareness of the work of the Community Foundation through newsletters, events and other fundraising activities.

The Friends have their own Named Fund, which they add to regularly through fundraising events and donations, and which is used to fund local projects throughout the county. Friends donate £25 or more per year to the Community Foundation, or give £250 to be a Life Friend.

Many people set up bankers orders to make regular monthly, quarterly or annual donations. Subsequently some have decided to set up their own Named Fund, and others plan to leave a bequest to the Community Foundation.

Friends also help to ensure that more people are aware of the work we do, bringing in new supporters, and ensuring that local charities are aware of the grants we can offer them.

Friends are invited to our fundraising events, including our annual High Sheriff’s reception and have the chance to visit some of the projects we fund as part of our “Seeing is Believing” programme.
