Community Foundations
Community Foundations are an American concept that was brought to the UK in the 1980s. During the last two decades, Community Foundations have spread rapidly around the globe. Community Foundations are one of the fastest growing forms of organised philanthropy.
The Community Foundation for Wiltshire & Swindon is part of a national network
and 94% of the UK population lives in an area with its own local Community
Foundation. Between them the Community Foundations give out a combined
total of more than £70 million each year.
